Oil Pulling

Oil pulling is a very powerful detoxifying practice. It has its roots in Ayurvedic tradition, one of the oldest natural health systems in the world. The toxins in your body are pulled out causing mucous drainage – which is one of the ways your body removes toxins

Benefits may include:

  • increases our metabolism
  • whiter teeth
  • pinker gums
  • improved skin
  • feel much better
  • no longer wake-up sneezing and runny nose
  • dissolving kidney stones

Directions

  1. In the morning, before breakfast on an empty stomach, rinse your mouth out with 1 Tablespoon high-quality Virgin Coconut Oil like you would with a mouthwash for about 15 minutes. This process makes oil thoroughly mixed with saliva. Swishing activates the enzymes and the enzymes draw toxins out of the blood.
NOTE: Do NOT lean your head back and gargle and do NOT swallow!
  2. As the process continues, the oil gets thinner and white. If the oil is still yellow, it has not been pulled long enough.
  3. If your jaw gets tired, you are swishing too hard. Relax your mouth and use your tongue to help move the oil around.
  4. Should you get tired before 15 – 20 minutes, spit the oil that is now filled with toxins, into the toilet and just swish a new batch of Virgin Coconut Oil for the remaining time.
  5. To finish, spit the oil and toxins into the toilet. The spittle contains harmful bacteria and toxic bodily waste.
  6. Rinse your mouth a few times with water and spit in the toilet and flush.
  7. Rinse with mouthwash to kill any bacteria left.
  8. To accelerate the healing process, it can be repeated three times a day, but always before meals on an empty stomach.

Coconut oil can be purchased at most natural-foods stores. When selecting a coconut oil, look for organic, non-GMO coconut oil. Stay away from hydrogenated oil or oil that has been treated with heat, solvents, or bleach. Opting for extra-virgin oil ensures that the coconut oil product has not been refined, bleached, or deodorized. In addition, extra-virgin coconut oil tends to offer a richer flavor than refined coconut oil.

Often used in stir-frying and baking, coconut oil can replace butter as a spread or flavoring agent for bread, oatmeal, popcorn, vegetable dishes, and other foods. Coconut oil can also be added to smoothies and shakes.

In addition to 100% coconut oil, some companies make a product made from the whole coconut, not just the oil, so it also has protein and fiber. It is called coconut butter or coconut manna, and is used in smoothies, shakes, desserts, dressings, and sauces.
